Introducing Akara, a renowned dancer and sacred dance facilitator with over a decade of professional experience in choreography and teaching and 35 years of dance experience.
Akara has trained in various styles, ranging from contemporary to Modern Jazz, however, her true passion now lies in Tribal fusion belly dance, a style she began channelling over a decade ago, a dance form that has taken her on a journey to remember the essence, sacredness and ancient depth of dance, as an ancient art form that is Temple Dance.
She has developed her own unique style by merging different dance forms and exploring ritual storytelling in a ceremonial manner.
Akara believes in the power of dance as a modality for healing, self-empowerment, and building confidence. Through her expertise, she assists individuals in accessing the ancient temple codes within themselves, guiding them to explore dance in a holistic and sacred way. With intention-based movement, devotion, and prayer, Akara helps her students feel more embodied and connected to their inner selves, enabling them to exude grace and elegance in their expression.

Throughout her career, Akara has established many successful offerings in her chosen field. One notable accomplishment is the co-founding of Eclectica dance troupe with co founder and dear friend Anna Maria in Australia when she lived there a decade ago, co birthing the beginning of the sacred dance troupe. Eclectica Hub, as it is now known has since transformed into a successful ritual theatre dance company and wombcraft school that has flourished over the past decade in Melbourne. Akara feels deeply honoured and humbled to have been one of the original catalysts in the forming of such an incredible entity and feels deeply proud of her sisters profound achievement and continued growth and dedication to the path.
She was then called back home to her native land of England to continue her ancestral healing journey, where the ancient Isle of Avalon beckoned her forth, which led to many initiations on her priestess path, as she continued her self development and souls healing journey. She has been residing in the magical Isle for the past 9 years, where she continued her life’s study of dance and completed several trainings with The Alchemical School of Sacred Dance and became one of the regular teachers at the school.
Akara has recently launched her own Temple dance mystery school and has been regularly leading classes over the past 4 years, she has hosted many workshops, shared her work at many festivals and now leads in depth in person courses and trainings in Glastonbury.
Akara’s talent has taken her across continents, as she has created and choreographed numerous shows that have toured Australia, Europe, and the UK. She has had the privilege of performing alongside incredibly talented musicians and producers on renowned stages worldwide. Her captivating presence on stage truly brings her ancient lineage and shapeshifting abilities to life.
In the past year, Akara has been invited to share her profound knowledge and dance medicine at various retreats in Glastonbury. Currently, she is diligently working on creating her first sacred dance retreat, set to take place in 2025.
Her passion lies in leading women to embrace their self-expression, divine femininity, and to strengthen the sisterhood and to rise in love. Through movement-based practices, and archetypal embodiment, she creates safe spaces for women to connect, release old stories and patterns, heal ancient traumas, whilst forming strong sisterhood bonds she leads from a place of embodied presence navigating the realms of both shadow and light, with the torch and experience of her own life’s journey.
